PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES OFFERED

The Empathy Challenge is a positive anti-bullying presentation for students in grades 5-9 that focuses on building empathy among the participants. 

Students interact continually with each other and with the speaker as dysfunctional behavior is addressed in a non-threatening and enjoyable way. The presentation instructs using positive reinforcement and, ironically, the word “bully” isn’t mentioned once throughout the assembly.

Math Thru Music (MTM) teaches students the importance of numeracy using music. The program combines DJing with numeracy in this hands-on experience. No matter the choice of music, math plays a huge part and MTM connects the dots. DJs perform under immense pressure and some of that is relieved through knowing basic mathematics. MTM uses the engaging craft of DJing to build stronger numeracy skills. 

The West Texas Youth Foundation is a nonprofit, working throughout the West Texas Area by assisting certain at-risk students who are in danger of not being able to attend college because of financial constraints.

The West Texas Youth Foundation has committed financial resources to help applicable young people, and their families, attain their dream of earning a college degree.
